We are getting more frequent rains now as expected, but we managed to get out the last two days to climb anyway. The city of Yangshuo is really busy this weekend with a holiday in Hong Kong bringing in hundreds of climbers (not to mention the Sharma Fans seeking autographs).

After driving to White Mountain to check out Chris's project and discovering it soaking wet, we bailed to the Riverside and climbed instead. Merely feet from the road, right on the Li River, its hard to get a sense of the wall unless you take a boat to the other side and look. Boone thought it was a lot like Raven's Tor in the UK in terms of scale.

Abond, one of the top Chinese climbers, came out with us and did a brilliant 13a and Chris attempted a very long 13d onsight with a heartbreaking crux at the very end- which did just that to Chris. Can't win em all.

We are studying the weather sites looking for a window of opportunity to get back out to the rock but the reports are all over the place. That's just how it goes in China during monsoon season...
